Data Quest is an interactive, gamified learning platform designed to help users develop data literacy and navigate Qlik Sense effectively. Through themed quests and challenges, users engage in hands-on learning that builds confidence in working with data.

Data Quest is for anyone who wants to improve their data navigation skills, whether they are beginners learning Qlik Sense for the first time or experienced users looking to refine their understanding of key concepts. Note: Data Quest teaches Qlik Navigation skills only - it does not teach users how to create Qlik Sense scripts or Qlik Sense objects.

Unlike traditional training, Data Quest is interactive, gamified, and self-paced, allowing users to learn by doing rather than just reading or watching videos. Learning is delivered in bite-sized chunks, and activities and questions are delivered for each chunk of learning, all within the Qlik platform itself. The platform incorporates storytelling and challenges, making learning engaging and practical.

Each quest is a learning module focused on a specific topic, such as navigating Qlik Sense, interpreting visualizations, or performing advanced analytics. Users progress through different challenges to earn points and complete the quest.

Interactive exercises within Qlik to explore Qlik Sense features. Scenario-based questions that simulate real-world data challenges. Knowledge checks & assessments to test understanding. Leaderboard and achievement-based incentives to encourage engagement.

The leaderboard tracks user progress and points earned through quests and challenges. It allows individuals to compare their progress with peers, adding a friendly competitive element to learning.

Users can retry challenges, and revisit the learning elements using section navigation to help them understand the section better, and answer the question correctly. The goal is learning, not punishment—mistakes are part of the process!

It is strongly encouraged that first-time users follow the recommended learning path to get the most out of the experience. There is freedom to access the modules in any order however, in case users would like to go back to a specific module to refresh their knowledge.

Your organisational Qlik administrator will have set up a Qlik Sense stream containing all the Qlik Sense apps for DataQuest. You will have been assigned access to this stream by your Qlik admin, and will access the apps as you would access an organisational Qlik Sense app. Your starting point will be the Quest Track App, from which you will be able to access your learning path and all related quests.

Browsers: Compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Devices: Works on desktop and laptop devices with a stable internet connection. All quests except the Qlik Sense Mobile App quests are designed to be done on a desktop or laptop device.

Yes, you must have a valid Qlik licence assigned to you by your organizational Qlik Administrator in order to access Data Quest.

No, Data Quest is cloud-based and requires an internet connection to access content, track progress, and participate in interactive challenges.

Yes! Organizations can enroll multiple users, and team-based tracking allows managers to monitor employee progress and engagement.

Data Quest operates on a registered user per organisation basis, and is a once-off price per user, allowing lifetime access for as long as the user has a Qlik Sense licence allocated to them by the organisation purchasing the licence. Pricing is based on order quantity as shown in the table below. The minimum order quantity is 5 users.

Once an organization goes over the number of allocated users, the system administrator will receive an email as a reminder to purchase additional licences.

Data Quest provides real-time progress tracking through each module, via a status bar at the top of each screen. This allows learners to see where they are on their knowledge journey within each module. Quest completions and progress can be viewed in the Quest Track app, which also allows users to see other users' progress on a leaderboard.

If you cannot see the Data Quest space, please contact your organizational Qlik administrator and ask for access to be granted to the Data Quest space.
